The last year we rescued of the drawer a personal project that it had kept it stored more ago than 10 years: The Keloides. It is an animated series of black humor that we are uploading on Youtube and doing for fun, you can follow it in this Link: youtube.com/c/loskeloides
Ending a little tired and disappointed the production of the Alux's grotto , around 2005 , Ivan Ramirez ( creator LGDA and almost all voices in the program )and other member and I had the intention to continue working together, but without a producer (guilty of some bad decisions who finally took the project to bad terms). We wanted to continue creating, but we didn´t know what could it be, neither how. Youtube was beginning, but it was not what is now, were not many platforms for independent animation, and less in Spanish. Even so we began to imagine a pair of new projects; Iván created a new animal gang, something very in the line of LGDA but headed by a very likeable cerdita, it seems to me that she was called Pibil.
I for my part also began to create personages. I imagined a character frustrated in horrible and devoid surroundings of virtues; the typical guy angry with the life. I called it Kafkiano (in tribute to Gregorio Samsa Franca) and I designed a family to him: The Keloides.
By X or by Y factor, we left both projects and everyone went their separate. Eventually I continued working with Iván in advertising projects, but anything really special. From time to time I encountered the Keloides in the drawer and thought for me: “someday”.
Two factors stimulated me to rescue them: first I felt I owed it to myself, was a commitment with me. The second is that I have a small but very talented work party, so I felt it was a good moment.
We initiated 2015 redesigning the concept and the aspect of the Keloide family, I wanted something a little more friendly, because the previous concept seemed to me a very negative one, and neither wanted to make something as bitter as La Tuya en Vinagre. We took like reference characters that we had designed in 2013 for a local company, a pair of foxes (father and son) who have the same dynamics that I imagined for the Keloides (I am even using the same voices).
The 30 of September we released the Keloides in Youtube, we did a first season of 9 capsules. I don´t know in fact why or for what we do it, but although we dedicated long time and work to it, we amuses much and I don´t know, maybe it sounds ingenuous, but they seem to me a good concept and I believe that it will bring good things to us.
Iván Ramirez continues being the voice of the characters. I write and plan most of the chapters (obviously I am not writer), also Frankie Cadillac is in the equipment, that is the person in charge of much of the art of the cartoon, and Cesar Escalante and Pilar Caamal attend in production.
This 2016 we will have the support of a network that is going to help us to boost the Keloides, thing that has glad us. We are already writing the second season and we are planning to release it the 30 of March.
